Vietnam Airlines signs codeshare with Jet Airways

Vietnam Airlines and Jet Airways have announced a reciprocal codeshare agreement, offering passengers enhanced connectivity and seamless access when travelling throughout the combined networks of both airlines.

Under the codeshare arrangement, Jet Airways will place its marketing code on Vietnam Airlines’ flights from Bangkok and Singapore to Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi.

In turn, Vietnam Airlines will place its marketing code on Jet Airways’ services from Bangkok to Mumbai and Delhi; and from Singapore to Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai.

The codeshare flights will provide more choice for passengers travelling between India and Vietnam, with convenient connections via the international gateways of Singapore and Bangkok.

“We are delighted to conclude a codeshare agreement with Jet Airways.

“This is a demonstration of the value of the partnership between Vietnam Airlines and our strategic partner in India.

“We shall make all possible effort to maximise the opportunities offered to our combined network in order to bring the most convenience to our valued customers who travel from India to Vietnam via Bangkok/Singapore and vice versa,” said Duong Tri Thanh, vice president, Vietnam Airlines.

To further improve connections between the two countries for their common customers, Vietnam Airlines will also put its code on Jet Airways’ service to Vietnam as from November 5th 2014.

Gaurang Shetty, senior vice president, commercial, Jet Airways, added: “This new partnership between Jet Airways and Vietnam Airlines illustrates our group’s strategic positioning that continuously strengthens our offer between India and the rest of the world by developing our network.

“We are delighted to announce a codeshare partnership with Vietnam Airlines as it will further strengthen the global network of both airlines and provide increased benefits to all our guests.

“With the seamless connections offered by this arrangement, we are confident that this codeshare will see a further increase in demand for business and tourist travel between India and Vietnam.”
